BILLY IDOL

BILLY IDOL WHIPLASH SMILE VINYL (LP)

Whiplash Smile is the third studio album by English rock vocalist Billy Idol, released on 15 October 1986 by Chrysalis Records. The album is produced by Keith Forsey. Idol worked mainly with Steve Stevens writing the songs. Whiplash Smile is, despite the strong sales, considered Idol's less commercially successful album compared to his previous work. It peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200.

The album was supported by the singles "To Be a Lover", "Sweet Sixteen", and "Don't Need a Gun". "To Be a Lover" peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 100, "Sweet Sixteen" at number 20 and "Don't Need a Gun" reached number 37.

Whiplash Smile sold over 1 million copies and has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
